As houses get tighter and energy efficient, we shut ourselves in with dirty air. Mr. Duct Cleaner knows that when that summer heat hits smart people try to button up their homes and try to keep all the cool air inside, and the heat out.  We install energy-efficient windows and doors that seal tightly, keeping cool air in.  We try to limit the number of times the front door gets opened and shut.  We insulate the walls and attics further sealing up the home.  We put dark curtains over the windows and keep the sunlight out. Even pet doors are becoming more energy efficient.  We do not want to air condition the whole neighborhood, so we diligently work to keep our homes cool.

All these things have the same goal, keep the outside hot air out and keep the cool air inside. While this can decrease your energy bill a bit, it has a dirty side effect.  Occupants inside the energy-efficient home are breathing the same dirty air over and over again.   The same air is running through your HVAC system and into your ducts.  Each time it circulates, added pressure is put on your filter and little particles of dirt and dust slip past, to be recirculated into the air you breathe.

Mr. Duct Cleaner is not trying to tell you to open up your home in the 100-degree weather in the name of “clean air”.  That is too expensive and extreme and frankly pretty dumb.  The best thing to do is to have your ducts cleaned and then install an Aerus Air Scrubber.  Mr. Duct Cleaner will use professional equipment and clean your HVAC system and ducts to the NADCA standard of cleaning.  We will provide you with pictures as proof.  Finally, we will install the Aerus Air Scrubber.  Every time you turn on your HVAC system, the Aerus Air Scrubber introduces hydrogen peroxide ions (purification warriors) that will attach to fungus, dirt, mold, viruses (including COVID-19), and other contaminants in the air.  The ions will deactivate whatever they attach to and it falls to the floor, inert and unable to do harm.  Yes, it may mean a little more sweeping, mopping, and dusting, but it is better the dirt ends up in the trash bin and not in your lungs.
