What exactly does an Aeroseal Mr. Duct Cleaner Clean Seal Certificate mean?

Every Clean Seal performed on a home by Mr. Duct Cleaner generates a Clean Seal certificate. The certificate is a one-page report that documents initial air leakage from your air duct system and the improvement that resulted from the Clean Seal process.

The certificate can be printed using three different types of templates, depending upon how the homeowner likes to receive their data.  It can detail the amount of CFM basketballs of air that are now being prevented from escaping, it can detail the equivalent amount of trees that this energy efficiency process has effectively “planted” or the amount of cars that have been taken off the road as a result of the Clean Seal process.  All certificates detail the energy efficiency improvement that results from the professionals at Mr. Duct Cleaner performing your Aeroseal Clean Seal Process.

This certificate is emailed directly to the property owner as well as stored in two more places, Mr. Duct Cleaner and with Aeroseal in Ohio. The Clean Seal certificate stays with the property. If ownership of the property changes, the certificate and its warranty transfer to the new owners.

The Clean Seal is warrantied for ten years, providing that there are no major duct work changes or catastrophic events that affect the duct system.  The process has been tested to last 40 years in a lab, the only reason we do not warranty for that long is that we have no outside proof since no actual property has had it more than ten years.

If you are buying property you should ask for the Clean Seal certificate.  The Clean Seal Certificate signifies a balance air flow system that should be highly energy efficient.

Even though your duct system seal is warrantied for ten years, dirt will still accumulate in your HVAC duct system. How much and how fast depends upon the demand on your HVAC system.  For the average home, Mr. Duct Cleaner should perform a repeat duct and HVAC system cleaning every two years.
