Air is invisible. You can’t see the air leaks, but we know they are there! If your plumbing is leaking, you can see the leaking water and the more you see leaking the faster you call the plumber and get it repaired. You can’t see the leakage in your ducts. You have no idea how bad the leakage is. However, Mr. Duct Cleaner has the educated guess that your home is leaking a lot of CFMs of air.
95% of homes have significant air leaks according to Dept of Energy. These leaks happen in many various locations along your HVAC system. Air leaks could be where the metal attaches to other metal and there is a slight air space. There could be small holes that have been pin pricked in the flex duct system. Leaks could also be at the connection point where duct is attached to the HVAC unit itself.
Mr. Duct Cleaner does not have to send a camera into your ducts to map out where these leaks are occurring. We don’t take a microscope and examine every foot of your duct system. We utilize state of the art technology and processes to find the leaks and seal them.
When we perform the Aeroseal Clean Seal Process, we clean your ducts and then create a relatively airtight environment and hook up a computer to measure the amount of CFMs your system is currently leaking. We fog your system to find any of the big, repairable holes and then we manually perform those repairs. Then we send the Aeroseal patented solution through your ducts. It finds the holes, plugs them up and moves on to the next ones until the computer alerts us that we have sealed the system good enough. Similar to platelets in blood work. As a result, we typically take your leakage to below 5%.
Most homeowners report on average 17% lower utility bills per month. That energy savings coupled with the IRA tax credit means your clean seal pays for itself typically within one year.
Just because you cannot see the air leaks, doesn’t mean they aren’t happening. Contact us to get your FREE estimate on a clean seal.
