I started to write the standard Happy Memorial Day post for Mr. Duct Cleaner, and then I thought about the word Happy. It is a happy day for many people because they get to spend the extra day off with their friends and family. It is a happy day because it denotes the start of summer vacation, the opening of a lot of outdoor pools, and the firing up of outside grills. So when Mr. Duct Cleaner wishes you a happy Memorial Day, that is the happy part we are wishing for our customers, employees, and soon-to-be customers.
However, Memorial is more serious. “This is the day we pay homage to all those who didn’t come home. This is not Veterans Day, it’s not a celebration, it is a day of solemn contemplation over the cost of freedom.” –Tamra Bolton
Mr. Duct Cleaner is giving our employees time off to do two things: be happy and remember and pay homage to those who fought for our freedom and the ability to be happy.
If you are a veteran, thank you for your service. If you have lost a loved one in a military conflict or training to fight for America, we are sorry for your loss. We solemnly honor all men and women who have died in U.S. military service.
Happy Memorial Day!
